Colorado Risk Reduction Network

Welcome to the Colorado Risk Reduction Network Class and Certification Page. CRRN is proud to offer 3 different IFSTA based classes for anyone looking to further their knowledge and skills when it comes for Fire and Life Safety Education and Youth Fire Intervention. Currently, CRRN offers classes and trainings for Fire and Life Safety Educator 1,  Fire and Life Safety Educator 2, and Youth Fire Intervention Specialist 1. All CRRN classes provide students with the highest level of knowledge and training to meet the NFPA 1035 Standard for Fire and Life Safety Education. All CRRN hosted classes include a Colorado State Certification Exam upon completion of the class and  Job Performance Requirements (JPRs).

CRRN members will receive a discount to all CRRN hosted classes. 

Meet Colorado Risk Reduction Network's Certification Committee

 Colleen Potton - CRRN Certification Committee's Lead

Colleen Potton has been serving her community in the fire service since 2000, starting as a firefighter. Since 2008 Colleen has worked as a Community Risk Reduction Specialist with South Metro Fire Rescue. Colleen works closely with high-risk populations to work through specific issues pertaining to emergencies with targeted programming. Colleen strives to identify risks and populations vulnerable to those risks to create programming that reduces that vulnerability. In 2020, Colleen was honored to receive the Educator of the Year Award from the Colorado Community Risk Reduction Network. Colleen received her Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education with a specialty in Mathematics and Science from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Colleen received her Master’s in Educational Leadership in 2023.
